I hold a M.A. in History from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Graduate Certificate in Public History and a B.A. in History from Oberlin College.
While at the University of Massachusetts, I completed graduate fields in Modern European history and history of the book, but I have also pursued research on American history and historic foodways. I enjoy writing on the role public history plays in our everyday lives, from museums and historic sites to historical memory and memorial, as well as the intersections between history and works of fiction and historical fiction. Much of my current research focuses on American suffrage history and the history of Cleveland.
